Access Statement for Beaufort House

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs however it aims to accurately describe the facilities that we offer for all our guests.

Beaufort House is over one hundred years old and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests there are some features of the house that might make access more difficult for those with limited mobility.

Our bedrooms are located on the either the first floor or the lower ground floor – both accessible by a staircase with bannister. There are 18 steps to the first floor and 16 steps to the lower ground floor.

The accommodation on the lower ground floor can also be accessed by the back door (width 30”/76cm) to the property via a gravel pathway on the side of the house into the garden (there are two shallow steps at the bottom of this path approx. 5”/13cm deep) however to get to the breakfast room from these bedrooms you would need to use the internal staircase or go back out of the property up the same path on the side of the house and re-enter through the front door.

The front door (width 33”/85cm) has a small step up to it (7”/18cm) and a low plastic threshold across it. The back door also has a low plastic threshold.

Internally, the property has a mixture of carpet and wood flooring.

The ensuite bathroom in Munro (on the first floor) has one deep step down into it (7”/18cm)

Please note that all our bedrooms are for a maximum of two adults per room sharing either a King, Double or small Double bed. All rooms are of a size that cannot accommodate an additional bed(s). Please note we have no twin/triple or family rooms at Beaufort House and therefore cannot accommodate children.

We cannot accommodate pets.

There is no smoking or e-vaping in Beaufort House however you are welcome to smoke outside in the garden where cigarette bins are provided.

We appreciate that accidents/breakages may happen and ask that you let us know should this occur - any serious damage to rooms/fixtures/fittings may be charged.

We reserve the right to refuse entry.

What Our Guests Say

Colin & Michelle, Irvine Scotland

Breakfast - amazing! All cooked to order from full Scottish to continental. Sam & Glen the owners made us feel at home and it didn't feel like you were in a guest house, it felt like we were staying with friends. Attention to detail 10 out of 10

Beth DeFries & Family, New Jersey

My family and I were lucky to visit the town of Fort Augustus during our trip to the Highlands last summer and had the pleasure of being guests of Samantha and Glenn at Beaufort House B&B. For anybody looking for a cozy place to stay with a delicious breakfast selection in this beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands, look no further!

This place is so welcoming and in a picturesque, convenient location to explore the Highlands. Beaufort House is also just a short leisurely stroll along the Caledonian canal from the enchanting south shore of Loch Ness

Mary & Ian, Cambridgeshire

"Beaufort House is a lovely B&B, ideally situated for exploring the surrounding countryside and lochs. Stunning scenery and a very warm welcome from Sam & Glenn.’ We’ll definitely be back."

Katalin, Hungary. 12th March 2020

Beaufort House B&B is a really lovely place to stay, a very homely property. Our room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and worth to mention that Sam served the best freshly cooked English breakfast we have eaten in this region 🙂 If only we could come back again! No question, this accommodation is definitely recommended!
